Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Which restaurant is known for their delicious cheddar garlic biscuits? Red Lobster! For years I tried to duplicate their biscuits and then I found a recipe in the Food Network Magazine that I adapted slightly. These biscuits taste like the real deal, y’all!
Just take me to the recipe! You can get to the printable recipe card by scrolling all the way to the bottom of the post for full ingredients and recipe instructions. Read on for step by step photos of the process.
I use Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese in these biscuits. It’s white so my biscuits are missing the little orange flecks but I’m telling you the flavor and flakiness is all there!
Once you try this cheese, there’s no going back to ordinary cheddar cheese, I’m so hooked on it. It’s my favorite for making Bacon White Cheddar Pasta.
How to Make Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits:
- Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and stir to combine.
- Cut in shortening and butter with a fork or pastry knife until mixture is crumbly and butter is about pea size.
- Mix in shredded cheddar cheese.
- Stir in milk, mixing until mixture comes together. Don’t over work the dough or your biscuits will be tough.
- Drop the dough onto a greased or lined baking sheet in scant 1/4 cup portions, 2 inches apart.
- Bake until golden browned about 15 to 17 minutes.
- Melt the butter with smashed garlic in a small saucepan over medium heat; cook for 1 minute and stir in parsley.
- Brush the biscuits with the garlic butter and serve warm.
