Balsamic Glaze for spiral ham

How to Make Balsamic Glazed Ham:

We are starting with a bone in spiral ham which comes precooked. So we are just heating the ham through and the glaze adds tons of flavor.

Set ham out about 2 hours before you are ready to come to room temperature. This will help it to heat evenly throughout.

In a saucepan add maple syrup, orange juice, balsamic vinegar, prepared mustard, garlic, black pepper and salt. Simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool slightly.

Place ham in a large bowl and pour glaze over ham, getting it on all sides and down between the slices.

How to Grill Spiral Sliced Ham:

Preheat your grill to about 225°. Place ham over indirect fire and continue basting with balsamic glaze about every 20 minutes. Cook until ham is heated through about 1 1/2 – 2 hours, you can figure about 10-15 minutes per pound. We grilled ours to 140° internal temperature.

Oven Method:

Preheat oven to 325° and place ham in a baking dish. Continue to baste ham about every 20 minutes. Baking 1 1/2-2 hours about 10-15 minutes per pound.

This balsamic glaze would be phenomenal on pork chops, ham steaks, pork roast or chicken! Seriously delicious flavors.
