Strawberry Napoleons
Easy Strawberry Napoleons are a delicious dessert that everyone will love. Flaky puff pastry layered with the easiest pastry cream and fresh strawberries.
Strawberry desserts are always a favorite for any occasion and Napoleons are a bit like Strawberry ShortCake made with puff pastry instead of cakes or biscuits.
Ingredients for Easy Strawberry Napoleons Recipe
- Frozen Puff Pastry- thawed
- All Purpose Flour – for rolling the dough.
- Fresh Strawberries – sliced
- Heavy Whipping Cream
- Mascarpone or Cream Cheese
- Vanilla Extract
- Powdered Sugar
Step-By-Step Directions for Napoleon Pastry
- Remove one sheet puff pastry from packaging and place on a lightly floured surface. Cut with a pizza wheel or sharp knife into 6 rectangles. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on the pan and repeat with the other sheet of puff pastry.
- Meanwhile, make the pastry cream. Add heavy whipping cream to a large bowl and beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until it starts to thicken, raise to high speed, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Add mascarpone cheese or cream cheese, vanilla extract and powdered sugar to the bowl.
- Beat at medium speed until well combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to assemble the pastries.
- Wash and dry the strawberries. Remove the tops and slice. Place in a bowl and cover until ready to serve. You can add 1/3 cup of sugar to the sliced strawberries if you feel the strawberries are not sweet enough.
- When puff pastry has cooled, cut each pastry in half with a serrated knife.
- Spoon pastry cream onto the bottom half of each pastry and top with sliced strawberries.
- Place the tops of the puff pastry over the strawberries.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar over the tops with a mesh strainer if desired.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate, loosely covered with plastic wrap until ready to serve.
