Grilled Burgers
Grilled burgers are a year-round dinner staple at our house.
PIN IT TO SAVE FOR LATER
We have burgers for dinner at least once a week, sometimes two or three times. I love them and especially hot off the grill. The weather has still been in the upper nineties here in Oklahoma so we’ve been grilling often. My folks recently came over and we grilled up delicious salmon and burgers for our dinner.
For burgers, lean ground beef is healthier and as long as you don’t overcook the patties, they will be plenty juicy and so delicious. I also love using whole wheat buns and lots of fresh tomatoes and lettuce for toppings.
Plus, I sliced onions thinly and caramelized them in a dry skillet. It worked just as well as when I drown them in butter, so I will definitely be doing that more as a healthier alternative.
Since we raise our own beef, we typically have a freezer full of ground beef that our local processor packages in two- pound frozen rolls since we have a big family. If you have the opportunity to get locally raised beef, I encourage you to do so. I’m a huge proponent of knowing where your food comes from and staying informed about food processing and preparation.
