Air Fryer Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
Air Fryer Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms are filled with a creamy cheese filling, onions, garlic and topped with crunchy French fried onions for a quick and easy appetizer. Serve these low-carb stuffed mushrooms as a holiday appetizer or alongside your favorite dinner as a hearty side dish.

Ingredients for Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms:
- Ground Sausage
- Olive Oil
- Onion
- Garlic
- Kosher Salt
- Pepper
- Cream Cheese
- Cheddar Cheese
- White Mushrooms
- French Fried Onions
- Fresh Parsley for garnish
How to Make Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms:
- Brown sausage in a skillet, crumbling to brown all sides. Remove from pan and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
- In another pan add olive oil, diced onion and minced garlic. Cook over medium heat until onions are softened.
- Stir in sausage, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, salt and pepper.
- Mix until cream cheese is melted and well combined.
- Rinse mushrooms and pat dry with paper towels. Remove stems and save for another use like these BBQ Steak Bites or for a casserole.
- Spoon filling mixture into mushroom caps.
- Top with French fried onions.
Air Fryer Instructions:
- Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes at 400°.
- Place stuffed mushrooms in air fryer, a few at time, with space in between.
- Cook for 8 minutes for 370°.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot or at room temperature.
Conventional Oven Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Place stuffed mushrooms on a lined or greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 17- 20 minutes.
How to Make Stuffed Mushrooms Ahead
Prepare mushrooms up to the point of adding the French fried onions. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 24 hours before cooking. Add French fried onions and add an additional 1 -2 minutes to the cooking time.
How to Store and Reheat Stuffed Mushrooms
- Store leftover mushrooms covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 300° for 2- 3 minutes or a conventional oven at 325° for about 8 minutes.

Super quick and easy made these and everyone said they were the best stuffed mushrooms they’ve ever had which I felt as well. Only difference is I used both white and baby Bella mushrooms and topped with a little extra cheese.
