Alfonso Cocktail
The Alfonso Cocktail is a simple champagne cocktail to make for special celebrations. Impress your guests with a bubbly drink this holiday season.

The Alfonso was first made in France in the 1930’s and named for an exiled Spanish king. It’s sure to be a hit for your next special occasion, so pick up a bottle of your favorite bubbly and get the party started.
Ingredients Needed
- Champagne or Sparkling Wine ~ Choose your favorite brand, we are using Barefoot Moscato Spumante for this cocktail. Best if chilled.
- Vermouth ~ The original recipe calls for sweet vermouth but we used dry for this recipe. Use your preference and it’s best if chilled.
- Angostura Bitters ~ Find these at the liquor store or in the cocktail mixer section of your grocery store.
- Sugar Cubes ~ Adds a hint of sweetness and makes the champagne really bubble.
- Orange Peel ~ Optional garnish.
Step By Step Directions
- Soak each sugar cube with about 4 dashes of angostura bitters.
- Add the vermouth to the glasses.
- Drop each sugar cube into a champagne flute.
- Top with champagne.
- Garnish with a curl of orange peel.

Ingredients
- 2 sugar cubes
- 8 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 ounces vermouth chilled
- champagne chilled
- orange peel twist for garnish
Instructions
- Add vermouth to each champagne glass.
- Soak each sugar cube with 4 dashes of bitters and drop into the champagne glasses.
- Top with champagne.
- Garnish with orange twist.
