Ingredients for Beef Burrito Bowls
- Lean Ground Beef – We are using grass-fed beef that is 90/10, 80/20 is also a great option.
- Onion – Sweet onion or yellow onions, diced.
- Picante Sauce or Salsa – for the ground beef and serving.
- Water
- Spices: Granulated Garlic, Ground Cumin, Chili Powder, Kosher Salt, Black Pepper
- Canned Beans
- Cooked Rice
- Corn – We are using our favorite Mexican Corn recipe.
- Additional Toppings: Diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, cilantro.
Step-By-Step Directions for Burrito Bowls
- Cook the Ground Beef: Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir often, breaking up into crumbles as it cooks. Add diced onions when the ground beef is well browned. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened.
- Season Ground Beef: Add picante sauce, water, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper to the browned ground beef, stirring to combine. Cook for 5 – 8 minutes, lower to simmer and keep warm until ready to serve.
- Cook Rice, Beans and Corn: Cook the rice according to package directions. Make the Mexican Corn or heat up frozen or canned corn. Rinse and drain the beans. Heat beans in a small skillet or pan over low heat with a few tablespoons of water. Stir occasionally until heated through.
- Make the Burrito Bowls: Layer rice in the bottom of the bowls, top with beef mixture, beans, corn, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and cilantro plus any other toppings that you like.
How to Store and Reheat Burrito Bowls
- Storage: Store leftover ground beef, beans, rice and corn in an airtight containers in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- Reheat: To reheat, place ground beef, rice, beans and corn in a skillet with a few tablespoons of water, cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion diced
- 1/2 cup picante sauce or salsa
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 16 ounce can beans rinsed and drained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
