Cheesesteak Sliders
Cheesesteak Sliders made with grilled sirloin, peppers and onions and a delicious cheese sauce served up on slider buns is the ultimate party appetizer or fun meal for any night of the week!
Cheeseburger Sliders are one of our favorites for summer cookouts and these cheesesteak sliders are just as flavorful and delicious.
Cheesesteak Sliders ~ with Grilled Steak
If you are a fan of the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, these sliders are sure to be a hit. Perfect for entertaining and easy enough for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients for Cheesesteak Sliders:
- Sirloin Steak
- Olive Oil
- Steak Rub
- Bell Peppers
- Onions
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Velveeta Cheese
- Milk
- Smoked Paprika
- Granulated Garlic
- Slider Buns
- Butter
How to Make Cheesesteak Sliders:
- Prepare a grill fire.
- Pat steak dry with paper towels.
- Coat both sides with olive oil and steak seasoning.
- Grill the steak over indirect heat with the grill closed about 5 minutes, flip the steaks and continue to grill until internal temperature reaches 130° using a digital meat thermometer.
- Meanwhile, slice the onions and peppers. Place on a grill pan and toss with olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Remove the steaks from the grill and allow to rest 15 minutes before slicing.
- Add the onions and peppers to the grill.
- Cook for 10 – 15 minutes with the grill closed, stirring the vegetables every 5 minutes, until vegetables are softened.
- Remove from grill.
- Slice the steak into thin slices.
- Prepare the cheese sauce by adding Velveeta, milk, smoked paprika, garlic and black pepper to a saucepan. You can spice the cheese sauce up by using Velveeta Cheese Dip instead.
- Cook over medium heat, whisking until cheese is melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add bottoms of slider buns to a baking pan.
- Layer steak over the buns.
- Top with onions and peppers.
- Drizzle cheese sauce over the top.
- Add the top of the buns.
- Brush with melted butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and use a sharp knife to slice the buns into individual sandwiches.
- Serve immediately.
How to Cook Steak, Peppers and Onions on the Stove Top:
- Sear steak in a cast iron skillet coated in olive oil over medium-high heat, turning after about 3 minutes, continue to cook until steak reaches 130°. Don’t overcook the steak, it will continue to cook in the oven.
- Remove steak and set aside to rest while you cook the onions and peppers in olive oil in the same skillet, over medium heat, stirring often. Cook until vegetables start to soften, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
How to Store and Reheat:
- Store leftover sliders wrapped in aluminum foil or in a zip top bag in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a foil covered pan at 350° for about 12- 15 minutes.

- 18 slider buns
- 1/4 cup melted butter
