Cranberry Salad is one of my favorites for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas dinner. I got this recipe from my mom and she said it was one that my great-aunt Zoe always made. Those heirloom recipes really make a holiday meal something special.
Ingredients for Cranberry Salad with Jello

- Raspberry Jello or Cherry Jello
How to Make Cranberry Salad

Brilliant idea to use the 5′ serrated slicer for segmenting an orange!
Cranberry salad is missing a step. It says to set cranberries aside and then, what? Leave them set aside forever? No video to clarify. Disappointed.
Literally says in Step 2 to add other things to the cranberries. This is why reading is fundamental and ugly comments are unnecessary.
What a delicious recipe!
Miss would go good on a turkey sandwich!

Served this with club sandwiches over the weekend. It was such a great winter fruit salad.
Loving the crushed pinapple in here! Such a fun recipe for the holidays!
Can you freeze it
Hi Dianna,
I don’t think it would freeze well but I haven’t tried it. It keeps really well in the refrigerator.

I was wondering what flavor Jell-O you use in this recipe.
Hi John,
I really prefer raspberry but cherry works too.

Thanks Milisa! I plan to use this for my in-laws next weekend. She asked for it and I had never seen or heard of one without cool whip and cream cheese. I may use peans instead of walnuts but that’s probably just personal taste. Thanks!!
Hi Kelli,
I’m so glad you are going to try it. Pecans are a great addition and I love that it can be made a couple of days in advance. It’s one of my favorites. I hope y’all enjoy it as much as we do.

Can you use canned whole berry cranberry sauce instead of the fresh cranberries?
Hi JoAnn,
I’ve never tried that but I don’t think it would work as well.

So fresh and festive! Thanks for the recipe!
This is a family favorite, and nothing beats homemade! Definitely a must for the holidays!
We will definitely be enjoying this!
Thanks Brandy!
Do you cook the fresh cranberries?
Hi Deb,
They are not cooked.

Thank you so much. Happy Thanksgiving
You too!

Hi Song bird,
I’m sorry the directions were not clear, I have updated the recipe card and hope that helps. The cranberries are set aside in a large bowl for 30 minutes and then you add the remaining fruits, nuts and then the Jello. I added the video to the card again and hopefully you can see it now.

Thank you for posting this so I could find it. I’ve used it twice for family, friends, and work holiday events. I added grapes, blueberries, blackberries, and peaches to go with the fruit already included in the recipe. Not only has everyone loved it, and so many people have asked me for the recipe since. I keep sharing your link with them. Thank you!
Hi Tina,
I was thinking of trying it with strawberries but now I want to try it with all of the berries you mentioned and peaches! That sounds amazing and thanks so much for continuing to share the recipe!
