How to Make a Cranberry Tequila Old Fashioned:
I am putting a holiday spin on the classic old fashioned cocktail with cranberry juice and tequila in place of the traditional whiskey. A simple mixture of simple syrup, cranberry juice, tequila and a few dashes of bitters. Give it a good shake with some ice and garnish it with the twist of orange peel and you are all set.

A great flavor combination and a great option for tequila enthusiasts. If you are looking for a simple holiday cocktail, give this Cranberry Tequila Old Fashioned a try!
I was pretty smitten with the Codigo 1530 Rosa Tequila which is Codigo Blanco tequila that is aged in uncharred Napa Cabernet wine barrels for one month. The pink color comes from aging in the wine stained wood.
The wine stained wood gives Rosa a little hint of sweetness and floral notes. No added any sugars, artificial flavors or coloring. This is true tequila! Perfect for sipping if you ask me!

Rosa Tequila is a little over my budget. Does this drink works well with regular Tequila? Does it work by using regular Tequila and a splash of red wine?
Hi Linda,
I think it would work fine with any tequila but I would stick to the cranberry juice over red wine. I hope that helps.
