Mustard BBQ Chicken Wings
Mustard BBQ Chicken Wings are a tasty appetizer to make on the grill with tons of flavor from hardwood smoke and tangy a rosemary mustard sauce. These wings are like nothing you’ve ever tasted and are sure to rank as a top favorite game day snack.

Mustard BBQ Wings ~ Easy Grilling Appetizer
We love to fire up the grill and have the whole family over. Sometimes we will make a whole menu out of the appetizers and this easy Mustard BBQ Chicken Wings recipe was a huge hit. The smoky wings are coated in the best rosemary mustard sauce that is out of this world delicious!
Ingredients Needed:
- chicken wings
- prepared yellow mustard
- brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- rosemary
- onion flakes
- garlic powder
- black pepper
- kosher salt
How to Grill Mustard BBQ Chicken Wings:
Step 1:
- Prepare the Mustard BBQ Sauce by combining all ingredients into a saucepan and cook over medium heat, whisking until sugar is melted and all ingredients are combined. Set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.
Step 2:
- Prepare a grill fire to about 350° with pecan or hickory for smoke flavor.
Step 3:
- Drain chicken wings and pat dry with paper towels.
Step 4:
- Place over indirect fire on the grill and cook with the grill closed for about 20 minutes.
- Check with a digital thermometer and cook until internal temperature reaches about 160°.
Step 5:
- Pour 1 cup of mustard BBQ sauce into a large bowl.
- Remove chicken wings from grill into sauce and use tongs to toss wings to coat completely.
Step 6:
- Return wings to the grill and close the lid. Continue to cook for about 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°.
Step 7:
- Remove to a serving platter and serve hot or at room temperature.
Oven Method:
Place chicken wings on a lined baking sheet. Bake at 400° for about 20-25 minutes brushing with BBQ sauce and baking for an additional five minutes. Make sure internal temperature is at 165°.
How to Store and Reheat:
- Store leftover chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- Cooked chicken wings can be frozen in a freezer bag or vacuum seal bag for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in 350° oven on a lined baking sheet for about 10 -12 minutes.
- To reheat from frozen, brush with additional sauce and heat covered with foil for about 30 minutes.

Instructions

Mustard Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup prepared yellow mustard
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Add prepared yellow mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dried rosemary, onion flakes, garlic powder, black pepper and salt together in a small saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat or about 10 minutes.Whisk until sugar is melted and mixture is combined. Set aside to cool completely.
- Pour into an air tight container and refrigerate until ready to use. Will keep up to 3 months.
When you say prepared yellow mustard do you mean English mustard IE:Colmans or American yellow mustard IE;
French’s. The two are different and would give a very different flavour. English mustard is very hot.
