Smoked Turkey Sandwich with Cajun mayo makes a delicious meal for any time of day. A great way to enjoy leftover turkey. This sandwich is served on a baguette and topped with your favorite veggies.
Smoked Turkey Sandwich
My guys would eat sandwiches 3 meals a day, seven days a week and never get tired of them. For me, they have to be something over the top for me to get excited about a sandwich. The fresh vegetables, Cajun mayo along with the smoked turkey on a toasted baguette had my full attention.
How to Make the Ultimate Smoked Turkey Sandwich:
- Toast a large baguette and slice into thirds and then horizontally.
- Mix blackened seasoning into mayonnaise and spread on both sides of bread.
- Top with leaf lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, red onion and thinly sliced smoked turkey.
- Top with baguette tops and serve immediately.
If you are not a mayo fan, you can mix the blackened seasoning in with mustard or barbecue sauce.
We love grilling on the weekends and we will often do our Easy Smoked Brisket, a couple Smoked Whole Chickens, a turkey breast or a big batch of Grilled BBQ Chicken to make meals out of for 2-3 days during the week.
It sure makes getting dinner on the table easy when you already have the main course prepared ahead of time. Sandwiches are always a quick and easy option one of your favorites for leftover turkey.
A few years ago we stopped in at one of the Rudy’s Barbecue restaurants in Texas and of course I ordered the brisket. My youngest son chose smoked turkey. I was thinking he was completely crazy until I had a taste. It was phenomenal.

Smoked Turkey Sandwich
Ingredients
- 1 large baguette
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons Blackened Seasoning
- 3/4 pound sliced smoked turkey breast
- leaf lettuce
- 1 large tomato sliced
- 3 slices red onion
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Bake baguette for 10 minutes or until lightly toasted. Cut into thirds and then slice horizontally.
- Combine blackened seasoning and mayonnaise and spread on both sides of bread.
- Add lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and thinly sliced smoked turkey breast to each baguette.
- Top with remaining baguette slices and serve immediately.
