White Chocolate Date Bars ~ Easy Dessert Recipe

These quick and easy dessert bars are one of my favorites. They remind me of the bakery date bars that I loved growing up. Sweet, chewy and so delicious!

Ingredients Needed:

  • butter
  • brown sugar
  • large egg
  • vanilla extract
  • all purpose flour
  • old fashioned oats
  • salt
  • baking soda
  • fresh Medjool dates
  • white chocolate chips

Recipe Notes and Variations:

Add-Ins: Chopped pecans or walnuts add delicious crunch. Add a teaspoon of cinnamon for a holiday dessert.

Garnish: Dust the bars with powdered sugar after they are cooled.

Store: Cooled bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature up to 4 days.

Freeze: Wrap in 2 layers of plastic wrap and a layer of aluminum foil or place in a freeze bag. Freeze up to 3 months.

How to Make White Chocolate Date Bars:

  • In a large bowl, add melted butter, sugar and egg, stir together. Stir in vanilla. Add flour, oats, salt and baking soda and combine. Fold in dates and white chocolate chips.
  • Pour into a greased 8 x 11 ½ inch glass baking dish, spreading evenly.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes or until edges are crisp and bars are golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool. Cut bars in pan or remove to a cutting board to slice.
